I slept well, which is good. They took all of the drama facilitators to breakfast and then to the college to check out the rooms we will be teaching in.

Then we returned to the hotel for a brisk 35-minute rest! 20 of those minutes I spent stressing over what I was going to wear. I finally settled on my “SEXY CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT” outfit. Once I got that sorted we went to the gala event.

All of the faculty teachers for this session stood up, and we were introduced to the entire theater full of teachers. It wasn’t awkward at all. Not even a little.

It was totally awkward.

Then we got to see a trio play. They had a piano, a cello, and a saxophone that wasn’t quite a saxophone. And it was amazing. They were young adults, and they had the talent of people beyond their years. It really was a stunning show.

From there, we met up with all of the drama teachers we would be working with; they, in turn, introduced themselves to the group. At one point, a lady introduced herself and said she was very excited about the academy this year, except she was very worried about doing improvised Shakespeare with me.

When the gentleman running the festival asked us if we had any questions for the group? The other two faculty members asked some questions, then it was my turn.

I looked at the group and said to them, “By a show of hands, who’s worried about doing improvised Shakespeare?”

All of the hands popped up.

I told them, “Don’t worry, I designed this workshop for your students and they love it. I promise you will as well.”

After that, it was off to another dinner! Giant shrimp! A jazz band! More food!

Tomorrow will be the first day of classes. I am super excited; I will be teaching drama teachers my methods. It’s honestly a dream come true.
