Federal Way High School Drama: A Night of Improv Magic

Last week, the Federal Way High School Drama Department and Thespy Troupe 3541 delivered an absolutely incredible night of live improv comedy. What made the evening even more impressive is this: the advanced drama students who opened the show had only four rehearsals together before stepping onstage. You wouldn’t have known it for a second. They came out swinging with fast, funny short-form improv that was sharp, clever, and committed. Their energy lit up the theatre from the very first game.

After the students set the bar high, our guest troupe Bard To The Bone took the stage with a completely improvised Shakespearean play. The audience was treated to unexpected twists, poetic language, and big laughs as the ensemble created an original Elizabethan world on the spot.

The entire night felt like a celebration of creativity, courage, and community. Watching students trust themselves, trust each other, and genuinely play was a reminder of how powerful theatre education can be.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, supported, cheered, and laughed along with us. If this performance is any sign of what the FWHS Drama Department has ahead of them this year, it’s going to be something truly special.

Stay tuned, these students are just getting started!
